London is, of course, the capital of England and the United Kingdom. It rivals New York for Financial Capital of the World.

The Palace of Westminster
the Settlement of Greenwich (with the Royal Observatory, marking the Greenwich Meridian 0 degrees Longitude)
London will be the Host City of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
